Do you at any point feel like your spouse is your enemy? Or they are behaving like an enemy?
Sadly, during marital conflicts, it’s easy to know who the real enemy is.
In marriage, during conflicts, we are quick to point fingers at each other’s faults, rather than separate the individual from the problem and tackle the problem, we tend to fight eachotherl and leave the problem.
Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Satan places his throne over the water and he sends out his troops. The closest to him in rank are the greatest at causing tribulations. One of them says: I have done this and this. Satan says: You have done nothing. Another one says: I did not leave this man alone until I separated him from his wife. Satan embraces him and he says: “You have done well.”

Sadly, Shaytan is not only present when a woman is with a man that isn’t her Marham, but also present between husbands and wives, causing tension in the relationship.
Let’s look at ways we make ourselves (our marriage) vulnerable to the enemy (shaytaan)

 When you are refusing to forgive your spouse: If we don’t easily forgive our spouse we are more vulnerable to Satan outwitting us by whispering to us the good qualities of others’ spouses, that our spouse doesn’t meet our expectations.

When you focus primarily on your desires and not on the dictates of Allah, you have chosen to listen shaytaan 
“And who is further astray than he who follows his desire without guidance from Allah?” (28:50)

 When you or your spouse live a lifestyle of rebellion against Allah, that’s sure an open invitation to shaytaan. 
We have our daily prayer, morning and evening adhkaar as a shield against the plot of shaytaan. 
Are we reflecting on the Ayats as it rolls off our lips or it’s just a monotonous exercise?
