Keeping Sex Fun When Trying to Get Pregnant

Sex can become a real chore when you are doing it for procreative purposes. The problem is, when you get to the point where you are having sex to get pregnant, it can actually take away from the experience of having fun.

To keep from getting to that point, where you don’t see the need to have sex due to not getting the expected results or when it gets to a boring level, here are some ideas of what you can do to keep sex fun when trying to get pregnant:

It’s An Act of Charity

The Prophet (PBUH) said, “In the sexual act of each of you there is charity.” Sahih Muslim

Relax And Take a Few Nights Off

The thought of making good use of every single night that you are fertile may seem the best but taking a few nights off from having sex if you have reached a point of burnout to help you feel the desire to be with one another after a few days. It will be ok if you do not have sex every night or every day that you think you are fertile.

None of you should fall upon his wife like an animal; let there be a ‘messenger’ between you.” “And what is a messenger?” they asked, and he replied: “Kisses and words.” Sahih al-Bukhari

Don’t just go straight into having sex. Have the mindset that you are going to create sexual memories with your partner. Spend a lot of time in foreplay so that you both can really enjoy the night.

If you have been trying to get pregnant for several months, start alternating the months you are actively trying, Try and keep the stress level down and please don’t force the sex. 

Don’t be anxious, I know it’s not easy, but let procreation be the last on your mind so you can enjoy the present.

Having a baby is a unique and exciting experience. Before you have your child, do everything you can to build a close relationship with your spouse. The way you handle those years before children will directly affect your relationship afterward.

His command, when He wills a thing, is to say to it, “Be,” and it comes to be. (Quran 36:82)

It is the absolute Might of Allah that when He desires something He merely says, ‘Be’, and it comes into existence.

Have Tawwakkul that your Lord will never forsake you and that He is preparing you for something great.
