Ramadan Day 8-When Forgiveness Feels Impossible

You tell yourself you should move on. You try to forget. You tell yourself you’re over it. But then something reminds you, a word, a place, a memory, and the hurt resurfaces like it never left.

Forgiveness is not easy. It is not about pretending the wound didn’t happen or acting as if the pain was never real. Forgiveness is about choosing yourself. Choosing your peace over the burden of resentment. Choosing trust in Allah over the need for justice on your terms.

Allah, in His infinite mercy, reminds us that forgiveness is not just for the one who wronged us, it is for ourselves. It is a pathway to lightness, to healing, to freedom. And above all, it is a bridge to His forgiveness.

But let’s be honest. Some wounds don’t heal in a day. Some offenses cut too deep to let go overnight. And that’s okay. Forgiveness is not always immediate, but it begins with a choice, the choice to let Allah handle what you cannot.

So today, don’t force yourself to forget….don’t rush your healing….but make the intention….even if you are not ready yet, just pray that Allah, soften your heart, pray that He(SWT) help you to release what you cannot carry anymore.

And then, let Him do the rest.

Love Always
