Ever since I started this series, I’ve been getting a lot of I don’t know what to ask Allah, I don’t even know how to make du’a anymore, I’m just weak, I am just there.
There are moments in life when things just don’t make sense. When you try, you wait, you pray, but nothing seems to change. When you’re standing at a crossroads, unsure of which way to go. When your heart feels heavy, not because you don’t have eeman, but because you don’t know what to do next.
I wasn’t the kind to overthink. I didn’t carry my worries everywhere. But I wanted to understand. I wanted to know where things were leading. I wanted to be sure that what I was working towards would fall into place.
But life doesn’t come with clear signs at every turn. And one day, I had to ask myself, why am I holding onto something that was never mine to control?
Allah never asked me to figure it all out. He never told me to carry the weight alone. He only asked me to trust Him.
That realisation hit deep. The way I was waiting, hoping, searching, it was as if I needed proof before I could trust. As if I had to see the full picture before believing that Allah was already writing something better for me.
I don’t know what’s weighing on your heart today. Maybe it’s a decision you’re struggling with. Maybe it’s a future that feels uncertain. Maybe it’s the God when of a spouse, or hoping for the fruits of the womb, or health issues or the next meal or business, maybe it’s just the quiet exhaustion of carrying something you don’t have answers for.
But whatever it is, pause. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath.
And whisper to Allah, tell Him you don’t know what to ask for. You don’t know what’s best for you. But He(SWT) does. So surrender and leave it all in His hands. Ask Allah to guide you, choose for you, and make your heart content with what He(SWT) has written.
Say it as many times as you need to. Say it until your heart believes it. Because you were never meant to carry it all. The same Allah who holds the entire universe together is holding you too.
