Allow your body heal.
It is human nature to want a quick fix, it is human nature to want to suppress pain, we have been wired to react to pain or illness with drugs or pills or even herbs which is where we get it wrong. We overload our body with too much ‘stuffs’. We have trained our brains and body not to know when to relax or heal , we don’t allow the body take necessary steps to heal.

Whenever we have headache, the first human instinct is to use a pain killer, like the name implies, it only kills the pain, it doesn’t cure it. It only suppresses it, it doesn’t help you. However, headaches and some other pains are ways in which our body communicates with us that it needs rest. Body aches are ways our body tells us we need to rest or change positions of sleeping.

Some weeks ago, I was having serious body ache, in fact, it felt as if I was going to die, I was scared, I was even asking my husband some weird questions. I was unable to pray standing, it was that bad. One thing I have learnt to do in the past is trace what could be the cause of any pain I am feeling and as we all know, the hospital is a no go area at this crucial moment and I hate to self-medicate, I have always hated drugs, you can’t find any pain killer in my house. I have always been a believer of listening to my body. I noticed sleeping in bed made it worse, I wake up with much more intense pain than I slept in. so I tried the chair in the living room and I noticed I woke up with the pain still there but it wasn’t as intense as before, so I continued sleeping in the living room and doing extra stretches, and the pain went on its own, my mattress was killing me without my knowledge, if I hadn’t listened to my body, I would have been suppressing the pain with a pain killer while still sleeping in the same bed.

Listening to our body isn’t only healthy, it also saves us the stress of running around trying to find solutions to things that are within, so before you take that pain killer in your first aid box, make sure you have exhausted all other options.

Before you use that aphrodisiacs, make sure you aren’t enabling weak performance
